I am Head of Research and Economics at Usdaw (Union of Shop, Distributive and Allied Workers). We provide a wide range of services and support to Central Officials, national and local negotiators and Union reps on industrial relations, bargaining and policy issues. The Research and Economics Department also includes the Union's Equalities and Politics Sections and we prepare the Union's responses to formal enquiries and consultations from outside bodies. I am a member of the TUC General Council and Executive Committee and a TUC Union Aid Trustee. Usdaw is the fourth largest trade union in the UK with over 433,000 members working mainly in the retail, distribution, transport and food manufacturing sectors.
