The following resolution was passed unanimously by an all member meeting of Solihull & Meriden joint CLP, on 8th November 2018

 

Charter For An Open And Democratically Accountable Building Society Industry. 

Solihull and Meriden CLP notes the publication by the Building Society Members Association of its "Charter For An Open And Democratically Accountable Building Society Industry".

Solihull and Meriden CLP calls on the Shadow Cabinet and NEC of the Labour Party to endorse the Charter. Furthermore it calls on a new incoming Labour Government to consult all stakeholders, before the drawing up of legislation and regulations to facilitate the changes needed, in order to create an open and democratically accountable building society industry.
