Immigration

The Labour Party needs to commit to a clear and human immigration policy. This includes a full review of the policy of asylum seekers and refuges having no recourse to public funds. Labour should instead guarantee all asylum seekers or refugees a basic standard quality of living as a human right. All asylum seeker or refugee services, such as accommodation, food, and healthcare, should be reviewed and regulated to meet this standard.

The Labour Party should consider the role of deportation as a suitable sentence when dealing with non-British offenders. Deportation should be a last resort, not a first recourse, when dealing with such offenders, especially if they are refusing to engage with rehabilitation schemes and rejecting support services.
